Message from the General Directorate
for the 2025-2026 School Year

As we begin another promising school year, we extend our warmest wishes to all our stakeholders, members of personnel, families, and students. May this year be filled with meaningful learning experiences, personal growth, and many successes, both inside and outside the classroom. 

At the Central Québec School Board (CQSB), our commitment to excellence remains unwavering. Our mission, deeply rooted in our identity, continues to guide everything we do: 

“Support vibrant learning communities in its schools and centres that empower all students to receive the best possible education, to foster their social development and to prepare them to achieve their fullest potential and become contributing members of our ever-changing society.” 

We are proud to report that CQSB is thriving. Enrolment continues to rise, and our graduation and qualification rates remain among the highest in the province (MEQ 2025) – a true reflection of the outstanding educational services provided by our dedicated school teams. 

Throughout the year, you will see our mission in action as we move into the second cycle of our Commitment-to-Success Plan (CtSP) 2023–2027, offering deeper insight into CQSB’s vision for educational success in the years ahead. 

We are also excited to share another major milestone: Our long-awaited plan to bring all secondary students in the Québec City region together under one roof – a brand-new, state-of-the-art high school – has officially been approved! This visionary project, seven years in the making, will soon begin to take shape in Sainte-Foy and will be a cornerstone of our future. 

CQSB is moving forward with strength and purpose. Like those who came before us, we believe deeply in the sustainability and value of English public education in Québec. Thank you for placing your trust in us.
