Michelle Morin-Doyle

Michelle Morin-Doyle
Deputy Mayor, Québec City

Having graduated from St. Patrick’s High School, one of Central Québec School Board’s English public schools, prepared me to face the rigours of higher education. In addition, the CQSB provided me with the knowledge and skills necessary to negotiate and navigate through Québec City’s dynamic business world and to dive into its political arena. Thanks to the high quality of education offered at CQSB schools, I was able to acquire excellent linguistic skills coupled with other essential tools that afforded me a competitive edge and enabled me to evolve as a professional. Inspired by CQSB’s decision-maker’s commitment to ensure quality education to their students, I joined the ranks of the Council of Commissioners and became Chair in November 2007. In 2009, I successfully ran for municipal office for the City of Québec. I was immediately named to the city’s Executive Committee and appointed to the position of Deputy Mayor. These two mandates were renewed at the November 2013 municipal elections. The Central Quebec School Board’s English public school system prepared me to face the wonderful challenges that are associated with representing the City of Québec and my constituents. I am very proud to be the Patroness of CQSB’s Wall of Fame!

Dollard-des-Ormeaux School, one of Central Québec School Board’s English Public Schools, prepared me for lifelong success no matter where I choose to establish my practice! The second-to-none quality education provided by dedicated teachers, who proved to be true role models who showed me that all is possible, was an important factor in my career choice. DDO prepared me academically in both French and English and gave me the tools I needed to serve the members of my community.
