U12 St Patrick's Hockey program
It is with great pleasure that I would like to invite your child to our St. Pat’s U12 Hockey Development Program which aims at hockey players registered in a minor hockey association from grades 5 and 6 in the Central Quebec School Board.
The program offers to students enrolled in the English system a chance to learn about the St. Patrick’s High School Hockey Program as it is part of the Ligue de Hockey Préparatoire Scolaire (LHPS). The LHPS is a provincial league that allows elite hockey players to play in a structure that focuses on developing athletes while providing a close school follow-up. It has changed the landscape of minor hockey in the past few years as it offers a lot of advantages that the minor hockey associations cannot as a lot of emphasis is put on the student being successful at school while making sure players reach their maximum potential by providing quality coaching and structured organizations.
Students selected to play on one of the St. Pat’s LHPS teams have three practices a week along with one off-ice training session and play about 50 games including pre-season games, regular season games, playoffs, tournaments and showcases in Canada and in the USA.
Thus, the St. Pat’s U12 Hockey development program targets the players that are interested in joining our program for the upcoming years. Here is what our U12 program offers:
- Two on ice practices per targeted Pedagogical day
- One Off Ice session (plyometric training, speed and agility, stretching, etc.)
- Stickhandling training
- Practice Jerseys
- St. Pat’s Hockey T-Shirt
- Conference for athlete development
The U12 program is open to all players enrolled in a minor hockey association.
All practices will be held at the PEPS (Laval University). We are targeting the following days:
- December 4th, January 29th, February 15th, March 19th and April 30th
*Obviously, with the way the pandemic is unfolding these days, it is hard for us to determine the exact calendar of our activities. The price will be fixed based on how many days we can organize.
Here is a typical day that players will experience this year.
