A friendly competition of Flag Football took place on Thursday, June 1st at St. Vincent School. Three CQSB schools participated by sending teams comprised of Grades 4 to 6; Everest Elementary sent 2 teams, St. Vincent sent 1 and Ste-Foy Elementary also sent 1 team.
This event was graciously organized by Mr. Gary Kenler, principal of Everest Elementary School, in collaboration with the RSEQ* program À l’école, moi j’bouge!. Be Active Québec was present with a healthy snack kiosk to refuel the students, and we received the support of the Ville de Québec who offered free of charge, the football field adjacent to the St. Vincent grounds.
This activity was very active for five years, but had to take a break last year, and came back strong this year. It was to be held rain or shine, and this year the rain did not stop the students!
Mr. Kenler wishes that this event becomes a yearly activity and hopefully have all elementary schools participate, who knows… maybe ALL elementary schools in the region; English and French could participate!
Congratulation Gary for your dedicated work and for making this event a great success, as well as keeping CQSB’s elementary students active!
