June - National Indigenous History Month
June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, a time to recognize the rich history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis.
Take a few moments to appreciate the different visual elements of the image illustrating Indigenous cultures:
The sun represents the summer solstice.
First Nations, Inuit and Métis as well as the four elements of nature (earth, water, fire and air) are represented by different symbols and colours.
The image is supported by a multicoloured smoke* reminding us of Indigenous spirituality but also the colours of the rainbow, symbol of inclusion and diversity of all First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities and their members.
The eagle represents First Nations
The narwhal represents Inuit
The violin represents Métis
*Smoke is used in different ways by all three Indigenous groups in Canada. Whether it is to smoke fish and meat, to burn sage and tobacco, or for sacred ceremonies or celebrations, it is a significant symbol in Indigenous cultures.

Cecilia was an international student from Mexico who attended Québec High School during the 2019-2020 school year.
Studying in Québec City was an unforgettable and valuable experience for Cecilia. We hope that this short video will inspire other students to seek and embark on similar learning adventures abroad.
At CQSB, we are proud to offer a unique and bilingual educational program!
We R CQ!
The first ever conference of this kind at CQSB was held on November 10, 2018.
Hosted by Dollard-des-Ormeaux School in Shannon, with members of the student council as delegates and members of the leadership team.
A great experience for all!
