STAND IN THE WIND READING DIARY

BY ALEXIA CORCORAN

Day 1,
December 16th
(pages 1-65)
Poor Martha! She's all ready to go to camp and suddenly she breaks her arm and she can't go to camp anymore. Two sisters Rosemary and Christine are coming to live with Martha and her sister Ellen in a small beach cottage for a few days. (Without any parents) The 2 sets of sisters don't get along too well. I hope they'll have fun the few days they're spending at the cottage.

Day 2,
December 18th
(pages 65-170)
Rosemary is always bossing her younger sister, Christine around. Christine won't stand up for herself. Martha is beginning to teach Christine how to defend herself. I don't find Ellen has a big part in the story. She should be more involved. Martha and Christine are like friends now but I don't know if Ellen and Rosemary get along well together.

Day 3,
December 24th
(page 170-217)
When Rosemary decided she wanted to leave with her mom, I knew she preferred staying at the cabin with Kit (Christine), Martha, and Ellen. She came back the next day with Bruce and Toby (Martha and Ellen's brothers). Bruce and Toby always want to do something. They can't stop and relax for one minute but they're having fun with the girls at the cabin.

Day 4,
January 7th
(pages 217-259)
Kit tried to make Martha happy by making tinfoil dinners but it didn't work out. She was still kind to have made a camp dinner for Martha. One day, Ellen, Kit, and Rosemary planned to camp outside for the night. Martha was so happy. The Swann sisters are soon going to leave the cabin.

Day 5,
January 9th
(pages 259-279)
I just finished reading this book. At first, I didn't find "Stand in the Wind" had a very good ending, but then I understood something that changed the ending of this story.
The Swanns and the Winstons left the cabin and went their own way. I hope they will see each other next summer.
