WINTER WOULDN'T WAIT

There were three showings of Winter Wouldn't Wait. One on Monday afternoon for half the school, another on Tuesday morning for the other half of the school, then the Tuesday night performance for the parents and all were spectacular. Talk to someone who saw the Monday show and they will tell you it was spectacular, another who saw the Tuesday morning show (myself included) and they will tell you it was spectacular then ask Mrs. Stewart what she thought of the Tuesday, December 17th evening performance, yes, you guessed it - spectacular!

What made this show so good? I guess you have to start at the top and that would be Mrs. Bircher our musical director and of course Mrs. Stewart our school director, then on to the many teachers, parents, and last but not least those talented students. Many of these students who by day are disguised as quiet, even shy members of their class, came out to shine in this production and these performances. Too many to mention here but every last one of them gave it their all and that was evident. The songs so beautifully sung, the choreography perfect, the costumes unbelievable. The choir, in front of the stage sang so very well in opening the show and all the students who took their seats when the choir had finished, supported the singers on stage, with full voice and smiling faces, in their musical numbers.

There are two players we must mention and one of them is Stephanie Brushett, she strutted her stuff like a pro and lead her fellow "teenagers" through some great musical numbers. Stephanie helped everyone on stage relax and have as much fun as she was having. There is no doubt that a natural talent has been discovered by everyone who attended these perfomances. Her friends and former classmates are not surprised, she has been putting together skits, directing "productions", and performing for smaller audiences for years, just ask Bianca one of her best friends.

The other player who must be mentioned is Mother Nature herself Leslie-Ann Scullion, she looked exactly how you imagined Mother Nature would look, she held herself like Mother Nature, she spoke with authority as you would expect Mother Nature to speak, but most of all with her crown of fall leaves, her long dress, her hanging sash of vine - she was Mother Nature, a truly remarkable performance.

Congratulations to all who were involved in this wonderful show.
