LUNAR ECLIPSE REPORT | |
|
INTRODUCTION First you have to know that the moon orbits the earth and rotates on itself. The Earth orbits the sun and rotates on itself and the sun's gravity pulls every planet to orbit it and it also rotates on itself. The moon is round just like a ball. A Lunar Eclipse is always at night time. It happens when the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon are in a straight line which means that the Moon does not reflect the light that comes from the Sun.The moon does not give us light, it reflects the light. The moon stays in the shadow of the earth only for 1 hour. ![]() The moon does not reflect the light from the sun. ![]() The orbits of the Earth, Moon, and Sun.
LUNAR ECLIPSEWhen we saw the full moon it was at 1:18 p.m.When there is no light left because some lunar eclipse are partially black and there is still some light left. I got the chance to see a full pitch black lunar eclipse when it is full; there are colours around it, sometime pink, sometime white, sometimes orange and there are more colours. When the eclipse is going out the moon seems very much brighter. Lunar Eclipses can take hours and sometimes it can take minutes we had luck, ours lasted about 3.00 hours which means we had a lot of time to observe it. |
