Approach Paper
Maxime Arsenault January 28th, 2003 Albert SUMMARY PARAGRAPH- Albert is a story of a man named Albert who listened to noises during the day and if they are good it is a fine day but if they are bad it is a bad day. One day he stuck his hand out the window and a bird dropped a twig on it then another and another, after a while there was a nest in his hand and a cardinal laid her eggs in it, Albert on the other hand knew that if he took his hand back into the building the nest would fall down because it was too large to fit back through. During the night Albert had to sleep standing up, after about 2 weeks, the eggs hatched and 4 young birds were born. A few weeks later the mother and father bird taught their babies how to fly and they flew away. Albert now realized that every day is lovely! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . KEY PASSAGE- Page 25 He drew his aremin through the grillwork and the nest fell. Albert looked at the grass and the tree and the sky. He listened to the laughter nearby, a good noise, and the siren of an ambulance far off, a bad noise. And Albert knew now that both were part of this big, wonderful world. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . KEY PASSAGE EXPLANATION- Albert always thought that bad noises meant bad weather, but when the birds make their nest in his hand he starts to realize that when there is a bad noise then there will always be a good noise after. Now he knows that bad noises will always become good noises! | |||
