RESEARCH

Use these student project sheets to record the results of your research.
1. Here is information to help you research the phases of the moon. Here are the phases of the moon from Mrs. Stoehr’s Class.
Now to see how well you have understood the phases of the moon, try Lunar Cycle Challenge. Good Luck!
2. How long does it take to go from one New Moon to the next?
3. The difference between the terms waxing and waning
4. The Moon, Earth's natural satellite.
5. How big is the Moon in comparison to the earth.
6. How far is the Moon from the Earth?
7. Describe the surface of the moon.
8. Explain how we can see the moon if it makes no light of its own.
9. Who were the first two people to walk on the Moon?
10. Explain what a Lunar Eclipse is in your own words. Marc and Marc-André's Lunar Eclipse Report might be of help.
:::: I always feel better after I check my moon weight!
Here is a copy of a Sky Observation Log. You will have to include four of these in your report. Two of them should be done by you and the two others must be done by the other members in your jigsaw group. You will have to explain to them where, when, and what to look for and observe. Each observation log must be about a different phase of the Moon.
:::: Relax by playing the Space Mission Game
