GRASSLANDS
The Prairies cover the south of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
HUDSON PLAINS
The Hudson Plains stretch from Manitoba to Quebec along the southern edge of Hudson Bay.
BOREAL CONIFEROUS FOREST
The Boreal Shield covers a wide swath from Alberta to Newfoundland, south of the Taiga Shield and Hudson Plains and north of various ecozones, including the Boreal Plains, Mixedwood Plains, and Atlantic Maritime.
TUNDRA
Most of the archipelago north of Nunavut and the Northwest Territories are included in the Northern Arctic.
MOUNTAIN BIOME
Almost all of southern British Columbia and a portion of southwestern Alberta are contained within this ecozone.
ATLANTIC MARITIME
Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island are completely within the Atlantic Maritime ecozone, along with the Gaspe peninsula.
TEMPERATE RAINFOREST
The Temperate Rainforest ecozone lies along British Columbia's coast and its border with Alaska.
TEMPERATE DECIDUOUS FOREST
The Temperate Deciduous Forest extends along the Quebec City-Windsor corridor, including the densely-populated region of southern Ontario.
