EMERGENCY
PROCEDURES Fire drills
may be held any time throughout the school year. It is your responsibility
to know the proper exit for each of the classrooms in which you attend
classes and to ensure that the correct procedure is followed: The following directives should be followed in case of any unforeseen
emergency.
- Proceed
to the
appropriate exit to be used in case of an emergency (Exit number
is identified on front wall of classroom)
- silence is to be kept at all times
- all the windows should be closed before leaving the classroom.
- the classroom doors and the fire doors at the end of the corridors
are to be closed.
- teachers should have a class list and take attendance once they are
outside the building.
- the students are to stay in groups with the subject teacher.
- once the students are outside they should keep away from the building.
- Report any missing
students to the principal. Keep your class together until the all clear is
given and then lead them back into the school.
N.B. Whenever the above emergency procedures must be used during inclement
weather, the students are to be lead to St. Patrick's Church. FIRST
AID If
you aren't feeling well or if your are hurt, contact one of our three
first aid people: Nancy Cloutier at the secretariat, Pierre Richard
in room 244 or
Mary Radoux in the gym. CAFETERIA
SERVICES Breakfast
and dinner services are available. Hot/cold meals are served at noon
hour. Food and beverages can only
be bought during
the break
and at lunch time, not between classes. The cleanliness
in the cafeteria is everyone's responsibility, please do
your part in keeping it clean. COMMUNITY
RELATIONS
The conduct of our students is quickly judged by
our neighbours. We
expect reasonable conduct on your way to and from school. Pride
in our school will ensure that our lawns, fields and yards will
remain
unlittered. Our community neighbours appreciate you walking on
the sidewalk rather than on their property.
DANCES
The Student Council organizes dances throughout
the school year. These dances are supervised by the parents and
staff. All school dances
are held in the evening from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m. Details regarding
dates will be announced on the home page. Students from St. Pat's
are allowed to invite two (2) guests per dance. These guests must
be
signed
in
prior
to the
dance.
NOON HOUR SUPERVISION
Student activities provided by the school during
the lunch period are supervised. Any student who leaves the school
grounds during lunch
time does so at his/her own risk. Non supervised areas are out-of-bounds
during lunch hour and after school.
SNOW
STORMS Students
are to listen to the C.H.R.C. radio station. The appropriate
information will be given shortly after 7:00 a.m. On storm days
students reporting to school must remain in school for the WHOLE
DAY unless
the administration calls for early dismissal. Parents cooperation
is needed in this matter to ensure the children's safety. VISITORS The basic policy of the school states that no visitors are to
be allowed in the school during a regular school day. If a person or persons must visit the school during these hours
he/she must pick up a visitor's pass at the office. This pass
must then be returned to the office before leaving. The visitor must fill out a form containing the following:
- Name
of visitor, address, tel. no.
- time
of arrival
- purpose
of visit
- time
of departure
